Anime!

One of the things I really like to do is watching some good things, especially by TV. Series, movies, programs about history are some of my favorites, but the best things to watch; at least this last stressed time, is watching cartoons.

Japanese cartoon are the best. Since I’m a little girl I enjoy watching these ones, especially with my brother’s company. Dragoon Ball Z, Ranma ½, Evangelion, Doraemon, Sakura card captor… I don’t know, lots of them just remark my childhood so well. They were pretty much popular in the 90’s and I might say that it is so true.

Anime s is the Japanese abbreviated pronunciation of "animation". The definition sometimes changes depending on the context. In English-speaking countries, the term most commonly refers to Japanese animated cartoons. Their production is different if we campare with the cartoon from USA or France. This series and movies use to have characters with big eyes, amazing good bodies, weird hair color, etc.

My favorite one is Neon Genesis Evangelion. It is about a group of adolescents that most save the world from some creatures called “angels”. They have to fight with robots called “evas”, and they are pretty much as an independent thing. These robots are like animals directed by the subconscient of the teenagers. This anime made me appreciate everything I have that can be lost from one day to another: friends, family, scholarship, even a decent home. It is a strong story and personally I don’t recommend it to kids.

Right now I’m watching a short anime called Chobits. It is a romantic story about a robot and her owner. Is fun to watch this with my boyfriend, who, thanks god, is the nerd as I am and enjoy just like me to see this weird stories.

earth, loved earth

Nowadays, the situation of the earth is not going for a good way. We, as humans, as the kind that controls the world, are not seeing the problems that are getting closer and closer to destroy the only place in the solar system that actually have the optimum conditions to have life on it.

We are not really used to take care of this big house, it is true. We throw every paper in our hands, we don’t turn off the light when is need, we prefer to go by car to the supermarket in the next corner only because it is more comfortable.

In this modern society, we have some opportunities to learn how to take care of our planet, but we don’t take advantage of them, though. In some schools and universities exists some programs of recycling, or there are some classes where is possible to receive knowledge about techniques related of being careful with the use of light, water, paper, gas, etc.

Personally, I don’t have the conditions to start an own programm of recycling, but everytime I can, I do it, like in the university. As far as my home concern, I do everything I can to controll the quantity of energy I spend in my diary life. I try to have short showers, to don’t use the TV and the computer too much, to read in the day to don’t turn on the lights in my bedroom, etc.

In the last summer I joined to a Chilean green organization that was called Araucanía sustentable. This organization tried everything to stop the construction of the press Hidroaysén, in the Baker river, Aysén. Sadly, this project was accepted by the actual government, even when the most part of the citizens were against the action.

Now, the thing that remains and that we actually can do is to be more aware and start with the education of the new generations about this imminent problem.

Born to be wild!

One of the things that I really like to do is listening music. But not just any music… the music of the sixties is my favorite so far.

I use to listening this kind of music because my mother was a big fanatic of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Rolling Stones and some music from Italy and France (music of the same sixties).

Personally, I could say that my favorites are The Beatles.

I started with their music when I was just 6 years old, and I think there’s no better music to hear when you’re travelling. They make me feel happy with their melodies, but the lyrics are what really attracted me to them… they can’t be more perfects.

The Beatles were an English rock band (they used to be Skiffle), active in the 1960s and one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music. Formed in Liverpool, by late 1962 the group was conformed by John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). They were so famous; the girls were almost crazy about them.

Nowadays, the “boy bands” are really influenced by them. Groups like the Jonas Brothers, The Hansons, even another of my favorites bands, Franz Ferdinand, were very pendent about The Beatles.

About the seventies, I might say that my father was the one that made the way for me to like it. The Doors and Janis Joplin are fantastic, and not only because of their music, they had an entire way of life: the real rock star life.

Yes, I might say that I would love to be born again in the sixties.

some article I red

The article I choose is about the last British resident held in Guantánamo Bay, who faces at least another year of captivity because the Obama administration will not risk releasing Shaker Aamer before November. According to The Guardian, this charity worker is now held for a decade because of wrangling in a United States presidential election year.

As the 10th anniversary of the opening of the detention camp in Cuba, the British government is searching for options to bring Aamer home before he complete his 10th year in the island this February 14th. The wife of the prisioner, Zin, last saw her husband when she was pregnant of their fourth child, Faris. Some people that had meet this family said that they are needing the presence of the man of the house, because they’re been hurting for the last 10 years.

The campaigners of Aamer are trying to attract the attention over this forgotten case. his lawyer said: "Britain has the best record of any country with former Guantánamo prisoners, with nobody released committing any offence, and Shaker Aamer has never committed a crime of any kind. Why does Britain pretend it has a special relationship if a British resident is still in this shameful position?" He said Aamer had suffered "unfathomable abuse".

in a camp of yellow flowers

Dreams… a weird thing that humans (and animals, I think) can do.
To me, a dream is something that comes to your mind when you are sleeping, it could be like a movie, or just images. Some experts say that these images are from our subconscious and they can talk about our aspirations as humans or maybe our fears. Yes, it might be a way that our brain uses to clean out our hidden information.

I’m not good at all remembering all of my dreams but the ones that I could remember, they stay forever in my mind. I know, it is weird, but is true. They use to come back to my memory when I’m doing something that demands me concentration, or some deep focus. This usually happens to me when I’m painting or walking around and my mind starts to divagate. Sometimes I believe it is cool and I could pain my dreams. It would be awesome.

Most of the times my dreams are in color. I like it, but somewhere I red that it makes us have a spend of mind that can causes us tiredness.

I have one dream that always comes to my mind when I start to think about having a relaxing time: it is about a girl that is wearing a blue dress and she is standing just in the middle of a camp of yellow flowers (it’s weird, but I just founded a picture in Goolge, pretty much like this dream :O !!!). This girl stars to round and round, with her arms opened, like a helicopter, and suddenly, she falls down and starts to laugh. It’s a nice dream I think, but I don’t know why always is the same dream.

somewhere only we know...

One of the things that I really like to do is visit different part of the city very time I can. About that, I think it would be amazing to do, but in a different part of the world.

One of my greatest dreams has been going to Europe, United Kingdom, specifically. I’ve always thought that this is a beautiful country for all the things that we can find there: the culture, the beautiful and ancient architecture, the activities that people do,  the green spaces everywhere and, of course, the way that art can be developed.

I know the country includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern part of the island of Ireland and many smaller islands. It counts with four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, so, it’s a country with many cultures because it counts with different kinds of histories and experiences. The capital of the country is London, the beautiful London, with plentiful rainfall all year round and with the Tamesis River just in the middle of it. Perfect.

If I had the possibility to go there, I would like to spend my time in London, walking around the city, visiting the famous museums and buildings, like Westminster Abbey or some university, like Cambridge.

Of course I wouldn’t forget about Glasgow. It has an exquisite architecture and the music there is pretty good, like Liverpool, the place of The Beatles, my favorite band ever. I’d like to go to Bristol, just to see how the life in a small city is.

Finally, I would go to Stonehenge, and I think is not too necessary to explain this idea… it is just fantastic.

I’d love to study and live there. It’s a nice country and I think I could handle with the coldness of the British people.
